Blame Atta Mills for his own death - Kabila argues

The debate over who and what killed former president Mills still wages as the latest argument coming from the quarters of the Convention Peoples Part (CPP) indicates that the former president played a major role in his death.

Speaking on whether or not the president should focus his energies on unraveling the cause of Atta Mills’s death, James Kwabena Bomfeh argued that Nana Addo should rather focus his energies on the best way(s) to solve Ghana’s economic crisis.

According to Kabila, Mills set himself out as a political scapegoat of the NDC even at a crucial time when his health was visibly failing; "...no matter what investigation is done, Professor Mills himself can never be innocent of what happened to him. He can never be innocent.

When you came from abroad and looking at your face and hands, experts said there was something strange there; you said your doctor says you’re very fit and young boys, some of whom I’m even older than, were giving orders for him to run on the tarmac," he argues.

So far, it remains unclear what exactly might have caused the death of Atta Mills as his brother, Dr Cadman Mills, has rejected claims that he died of aggressive throat cancer.
