Togbe Afede angrily sues H. E. Nana Addo’s ministers

Togbe Afede XIV, the paramount chief of the Asorgli State, has sued the attorney-general, the interior minister, the chief of defence staff and a private developer for what he called an infringement on his right.

The chief filed the suit at the human rights high court in Accra.

Togbe Afede XIV, who is also the president of the National House of Chiefs and a member of the Council of State, filed the suit under Article 33 and Order 67 of the C.I 47, seeking the enforcement of his fundamental rights to privacy of his home, a report by 3news.com said on Tuesday.

Togbe Afede XIV contends that part of a six-storey building being constructed by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) overlooks his compound.

He, therefore, wants to court to declare that it amounts to a breach of his privacy under Article 18 of the constitution.

His lawyer, Francis-Xavier Sosu, also filed an injunction to restrain the military from carrying out further development on the structure, pending the final determination of the case.
