Marwako assault: Lebanese supervisor in court today

Embattled Lebanese supervisor at the Marwako restaurant, Jihad Chaaban will re-appear in court today, Wednesday, March 8 to face trial for assault on a female Ghanaian subordinate.

Jihad is reported to have dipped the face of Evelyn Boakye into a pepper sauce at the Abelenkpe branch of Marwako Fast Food.

He was charged Tuesday by the police with assault and arraigned before the Abeka Magistrate Court.

Meanwhile, over 2,500 people have signed an online petition to demand rapid justice for Evelyn by her employee.

The petition which was addressed to President Nana Akufo-Addo is also calling for an end to “inhumane treatment of Ghanaians by foreigners” and a shutdown of Marwako.

Also on Tuesday, the Employment Minister, Ignatius Baffour Awuah directed managers of the restaurant to produce a report over the alleged assault incident within a week.
