Former president JJ Rawlings has once again declared his confidence in President Akufo-Addo to deliver.
He said the former Foreign Minister has “certain principles and values” which could help in the fight against corruption.
“We are very fortunate also that somebody like Nana Akufo-Addo has emerged over here. People think I love that man to high heavens. No. But I respect him for certain principles and values,”
Rawlings, who served Ghana for about two decades, said when a group of movie actors paid a courtesy call on him at his Ridge residence.
“I will continue to pray and sincerely hope that he will devote possibly even 30 percent of his time, 70 percent for the development and project etc. but at least 25 to 30 percent he would probably need more than that to fight corruption and corruptible tendencies,” the former military leader opined.

Nana Akufo-Addo, who won the December 2016 elections after a third attempt, assumed office in January 2017 as Ghana’s 5th president under the Fourth Republic.
He beat former president John Dramani Mahama in a historic poll which gave him a comfortable majority in Parliament.
