Photos of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia visiting farms are trending on social media.
The photos have been used by some supporters of the government to portray Bawumia as an action man who has hit the ground running since the NPP won power.
However, the photos were taken in January 2016 when Bawumia travelled to the Amenfie West Constituency of the Western Region.
Bawumia visited 22 villages in the constituency, interacting with farmers and other constituents on issues of development and cocoa farming.
The constituency is one of the high Cocoa producing areas in the country.
Bawumia said during the visit that occurred almost 11 months before the December 2016 elections that the people of Amenfi West had been affected by the national slump in Cocoa production and that they had difficulties in accessing and affording inputs.
"The result is that many trees are dying and their livelihoods keep getting worse. I have shared on this tour, the vision of the NPP and Nana Akufo-Addo for reviving the Cocoa sector, including the reintroduction of the mass cocoa spraying and fertilizer subsidy programmes without discrimination," he said.
