Man City ready to submit record-breaking bid to sign Lionel Messi

As soon as word got out of the problems faced by Barcelona to extend Lionel Messi's contract, clubs all over the world started wondering if there would be a chance to sign the Argentine ace. Today, one club has apparently stepped up to lead the race, and it's none other than Manchester City.
According to a report by The Sun, Pep Guardiola's team would be putting together a massive bid to sign Messi, which would include breaking the record set by Manchester United last summer when they signed Paul Pogba. The English club would be willing to pay €115 million for the player, while offering an interesting wage increase.
Once again, a reunion between Pep Guardiola and Lionel Messi seems to be on the cards.
In what may seem a bit shocking, Barcelona execs are actually open to considering the offer, since they didn't send the Sky Blues packing this time. Sources close to this negotiation admitted that Barcelona's officers haven't set a price tag on Messi, since they are still trying to convince him to sign a contract extension.
The delay in Messi's contract talks is making most Barcelona fans nervous, considering that his current deal with La Liga's champions concludes by the end of the 2017-2018 season. The possibility of watching Messi leave is still far-fetched, but the Citizens seem willing to try and pull this off.
