I have no agenda to persecute you – Akufo-Addo assures IGP, others

President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service that he has no agenda to witch-hunt any of them.
He said he is not the kind that bears grudges against people.

Nana Akufo-Addo made this known on Monday, December 12, when the Inspector General of Police (IGP), John Kudalor, called on him at his residence.

Mr Kudalor was at the Nima residence of the president-elect, together with other senior officers, to assure him of the Service’s loyalty as he readies to take up the mantle on January 7, 2017.

Nana Akufo-Addo gave IGP and his men his full assurance, promising to
adequately equip the Service given its international reputation, which he said he enjoyed while a Foreign Minister.

“I have no agenda to prosecute as far as the security personnel in our country is concerned,” he said. “My only agenda is that we deliver to the people of Ghana an efficient Service,” he demanded.

He added that: “I have no animosity against anybody.”

Dispelling negative perceptions about his personality, the president-elect explained that “I am not a person who has grudges against anybody”.

“So feel comfortable,” he assured, noting that whatever decisions will be taken after January 7, 2017 will be in the wider interest of the nation.
IGP Kudalor also assured of the Service’s unflinching support to secure the security of the country.
