Fiapre Tollbooth Raid Case Adjourned to January 9, 2017


A Sunyai Circuit Court ‘A’ has adjourned a case in which some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters were reported to have raided a tollbooth at Fiapre a suburb of the Sunyani municipality to January 9, 2017.
One Mark Tetteh who is the principal suspect in the case is facing a charge of willfully causing damage to state property after allegedly setting ablaze the Fiapre Tollbooth  soon after the last elections.
The second adjourned date was to enable investigators complete their work after initially settling on December 20, 2016 which expired yesterday.
Mark Tetteh, the Assembly Member of Dumasua near Fiapre it would be recalled, was arrested on Monday 12th December 2016 at Dumasua and remanded  in police custody and  later  charged with causing damage to state property.
He was admitted to bail with sureties and made to deposit 10 thousand Ghana Cedis.
Meanwhile a second suspect, Bismarck Baafi, 23, who was arrested and remanded in Police Custody over the same case is also expected to reappear before the Court on the 23rd of December.
