Two suspected robbers are reportedly gunned down by Bole police in a gun battle at Tinga, a small mining community in Bole Bamboi district of the Northern region.
Bole District Police Commander, ASP David Azumah who confirmed the incident to Adom News said they received distress call around 8:30 Wednesday morning that there is robbery attack in the Tinga community.
On their way to the place, he said the suspected robbers engaged them in a gun battle so they also returned fire killing two of the suspected thieves on the spot.
In the cause of the crossfire, ASP Azumah said a pregnant woman was hit by a stray bullet and was rushed to the Bole Hospital.
"When they were gunned down the people in the town burnt the bodies because they were so angry and over powered us” he stated.
Information gathered indicates that this is the second armed robbery attempt in the community in a week at Tinga.
The first attempt happened a couple of days ago and today's incident happens to be second plot.
