A poultry farmer identified as Nana has killed and burnt his worker Abio at his farms at a village near Techiman, Hyiayem in the Brong Ahafo region for reasons yet unknown.
The accused after the act covered the deceased with carcass of birds.
The death of the deceased who was believed to be in his 30s infuriated youth of the community who besieged the farm and vandalised properties including a vehicle on Monday.
Speaking to Ultimatefmonline.com via phone, an indigene of Hyiayem Huudu Alhassan explained that they suspect the farmer is a ritualist who could have used his worker for ritual purposes.
‘He has been killing people for rituals. He kills his victims, remove body parts and cover what is left with dead fowls to avoid suspicion, the police have arrested him,’ he claimed.
The suspect who was fish out of his hideout has been handed over to the police and is assisting the police in their investigation.
Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Holy Family hospital in Techiman pending autopsy.
