Three fire service personnel have been confirmed dead after being ran over by a speeding vehicle on the George Walker Bush Highway.
The identities of the three are not immediately known but it was gathered that they had rushed to the area to rescue victims of an accident that occurred on the highway involving 5 vehicles.
But no sooner had they alighted from their vehicle than a speeding car from the other side run into them and killing all three.
Eyewitnesses claim, they were all moving from Lapaz heading towards Achimota/Tetteh Quarshie Roundabout when the unfortunate incident happened few meters from the Sues Inn. Police personnel from the Tesano Police Station later moved to the scene with the assistance of residents to rescue passengers trapped in their cars and rush the injured to hospital.
