Movie star, Joseph Osei, known in the industry as Wayoosi has denied receiving GH¢5,000 from President John Dramani Mahama as reported by sections of the media.
According to the actor currently recuperating at home, it is the minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare who gave him the money after a friend informed her about his plight.
“Let me clear this issue. It is not true that the president gave me GHC5,000. What happened was that, James Twumasi Ankrah and Rocksone informed Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare about my sickness”.
He disclosed that claims that the money was paid by president through the minister are wholly untrue indicating that maybe he is yet to receive such an amount from the President.
The ailing actor who was discharged at the weekend, said Clement Bonie, known in the movie industry as Mr Beautiful has not personally contacted him but told his assignees that he was working round the clock to speak to the President in order for him to be flown out of the country for treatment.
Wayoosi used the opportunity to thank Madam Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, colleagues in the creative arts industry especially the Ashanti Regional Actors Guild and fans who came to his aid while on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH)
