Fraud allegation against me is a frame up – Obinim

Bishop Daniel Obinim says he was has been framed up in the GH¢11.6 million fraud allegation that led to his arrest.

According to Founder of the International God's Way Church said he had never met his accuser until his arrest on Tuesday.

“How can a young man who has probably never been to school, have that much money to be given to me?,” he said.
The controversial pastor was granted bail on Thursday after spending two nights in cells.
He was held over allegations that he defrauded an unnamed business man in the sum of GhC¢11.6 million and publicly flogged two of his church members.
He flogged the two teens after what he said was a divine revelation that they were fornicating. He claims the 14-year-old had aborted a pregnancy.
His followers massed up at the Nima Police Station where he was being held to demand his release. He was later moved from the Nima Police Station to an unknown location to disperse the angry crowd.
He was arraigned before court on Thursday where he was granted bail with two sureties for each of the offenses for which he was arrested. It is, however, unclear what the bail terms are.
Suspecting that the government had a hand in the arrest of their Bishop, the angry church member vowed to vote against President John Mahama come the December 7 elections.

Speaking to hundreds of elated church members after his release, he said his detention was merely a ploy to discredit and embarrass him.
“If I am a true man of God, then let my God speak for me. You cannot disgrace me like this and go free, my God will speak and you will all see what will happen to them and their families,” Bishop Obinim said.
