Speeding car kills one, injures three GPRTU staff


A Toyota vehicle on top speed is said to have run into four workers of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) killing one instantly.

The driver of the white saloon car with registration number UE 425-13 veered off the road and run into the workers who were sitting on a bench outside the station.

This unfortunate incident happened at Akwatia in the Eastern region Tuesday,

Reporter, Kwadwo Adjei of Adom FM’s sister station Denkyembour FM said, the victims included two females and two males.

He indicated that, the deceased whose name was only given as Musa, a 50-year-old driver at the station was trapped under the vehicle.

Kwadwo Adjei said, he suffered a broken leg and bruises all over his body and was rushed to the St. Dominic’s hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The three others, he added are on admission at the Akwatia Government hospital and are currently in critical condition.

The District Police Commander, ASP Francis Aboagye who confirmed the incident to Adom News said they have begun investigation.
