THE BEKWAI HOSPITAL PROJECT IN SHAMBLES

Construction works on the new Bekwai Government Hospital and several other major projects being under taken by the government  in the Ashanti Region have stalled for lack of funds.
Among are the classrooms for Jacobu Senior High School and Electrification Projects in the Amansie Central District, classrooms for Fomena Community Nursing Training School in the Adansi North District, as well as the water project at the New Edubiase  in the Adansi South District.
Government has failed to release funds to ensure full completion of $16 million state-of- the-art hospital at Bekawai inspected by Members of Council of State about a year ago.
Nana Asiamah Opoku Afrifa, Toasehene, led the inspection team last year and assured of timely completion- that was December last year. The Member of Council of State also assured the paramount chief of Bekwai, Nana Karikari Appau II that the 120-bed facility project with X-ray, accident and emergency units, mobile ambulance, obstetrics and gynaecology departments, a 24/7 pharmacy section and a mortuary will be completed in no time.
The Late President John Evans Atta Mills in cutting the sod cutting for the commencement of the project in May, 2012 urged the contractors to ensure that they deliver the work on time. The hospital is aimed at addressing the health needs of the people in Bekwai and its surrounding communities. The project is being financed by the Government of Ghana (GOG), African Development Bank (AfDB), ECOWAS Bank for International Development and is being constructed by Italian Consar Construction Company Limited.

now looking at the situation of the project it looks like an abandon project, because the contractor who is working on the project is no more, one will argue that most of the work of the project have been completed, so if that is the case then why is nobody using the building hmm.
i can recall the 2015 state of nation address by his Excellency, he made mention that he has complete the project but looking at the pictures let me ask you does this project look complete?
when they started the project the whole Bekwai township was happy because this project was to replace a similar project started by the whites, unfortunately they could not complete the project due to some reasons.
so another question is the current project facing the same situation as what the whites experienced during their time of building the project? hmm
