Ghana and AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has been dishing out interviews to
promote his upcoming autobiography and has already shared revelations on former Schalke 04 team-mate Benedikt Howedes, Roberto Di Matteo and current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
This time, the 28-year-old talks about how he almost ruined his life in
the English Premier League by refusing to heed advice from Didier Drogba“Drogba tried to talk to me [during my wayward days], but I wasn’t open to good advice, not even that coming from Didier Drogba,” Drogba tried to talk to me [during my wayward days], but I wasn’t open to good advice, not even that coming from Didier Drogba,”
“He said: ‘Focus on football. There are 1000 coaches and 999 of them will not like you. I had
to fight for my place when I came from France.’ But I was not ready to listen to him.”Now engaged to Italian model Melissa Satta, Boateng spent three years in England following a transfer from Hertha Berlin to Tottenham Hotspur and subsequently to Portsmouth after a brief loan at Borussia Dortmund, a period during which he separated from former wife Jennifer.
“I sometimes drank too much and lost Jenny because I was out all the
time, and also with other women.
“I never spent an evening at home. And when I was out, I went for it big time. On quite a few of those nights, I wasted £10,000.”Boateng is currently reviving his career at Milan but still faces an
indefinite suspension from Ghana national team following disciplinary
issues at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
