A man believed to be an activist of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) man has been accused of beating a 53 year old market woman at Donkorkrom in the Afram Plains District of the Eastern Region.
An eye witness narrating the incident to Adom News said, the market women have had no peace ever since they moved to the Donkorkrom market.
She said some men who are activists of the NDC have made their lives unbearable because they are always prevented from doing business in the market.
The order which did not go down well for 53 year-old Yaa Dakorwaa turned into a scuffle where she was beaten mercilessly by the men.
“My mother and I went to the market this morning to start up for the day when this supposed NDC men stormed the market and asked us to remove our things from and leave the market because he claimed that particular place is for his wife.
“We resisted and before we could even say something, he and the other men pounced on my mother and beat her mercilessly” she said.
The victim, Yaa Dakorwaa has since been sent to the Donkorkrom hospital for treatment as a result of the beatings.
