GCB bank has announced that it has so far sold over 17,000
Police recruitment vouchers to the
public, three days after the Ghana Police Service begun the process to recruit new personnel
into the service.
The Police Service contracted GCB to sell the vouchers at
GHc100 on its behalf to enable prospective recruits to register online.
GCB in a
statement on its Facebook wall said: “GCB bank limited has so far sold over
17,000 police recruitment forms to prospective recruits into the Police service
across the country on the second day of the three week exercise.”
The process
which begun on Wednesday [May, 11, 2016] encountered some technical challenges
which led to long queues at various GCB branches.
Meanwhile, a
statement from GCB said it has resolved the technical issues and is providing
excellent service throughout the rest of the period which is expected to end on
May 31, 2016.
“The bank is
currently selling the recruitment forms at all its branches after resolving
challenges that
slowed down
the sale of the forms on the first day, Wednesday, 11th May, 2016. GCB
experienced a large number of prospective recruits at its branches on the first
day which affected the smooth flow of the sale.”
The bank
also assured “prospective recruits of its capacity to contain the situation and
to continue to provide excellent service throughout the three week period
slated for the sale of the forms. The sale ends on May 31, 2016.”
