The welfare committee of Ghana Music Rights Organisation, GHAMRO has presented an undisclosed amount of money to Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Omanhene Pozo who has been admitted at the 37 Military Hospital for weeks now. GHAMRO administrator, Agya Abraham and First Vice Chairman of the association, Ahmed Banda aka Bandex on Tuesday afternoon presented the money to Sidney who happens to be a childhood friend of the musician. Administrator of GHAMRO, Abraham Adjetey before giving the money to Sidney disclosed that it is the right of all members to enjoy from the welfare of the organization.
“We have heard about the unfortunate situation of Omanhene Pozo who is a member of this society. This information through Sidney came to the Chairman of GHAMRO, Kojo Antwi and Chairman of the welfare, Bandex and management has had discussion.
As part of our welfare policy, we have to assist our own. The constitution also states it clear that we must do everything to protect the interest of our members and that means that we have to help our brother.
The Chairman of the board, welfare officer and welfare chairman met and decided that GHAMRO should respond immediately to the call of Sidney’s cry.
If there is something else that GHAMRO needs to do, we will do it to help him because when he is alive, it is for our own good.”
Agya Abraham further assured members that they will be catered by the welfare committee should any of them go into trouble.
First Vice Chairman of GHAMRO who also doubles as the Chairman of the welfare committee, Ahmed Banda also praised Barima Sidney for informing the association of his friend’s sickness.
“Sidney, you did the right thing by telling us of his sickness. Omanehene Pozo is our own. We can’t do all but at least we will contribute our quota to make sure he is well.”
Hiplife artiste Barima Sidney who happens to be a close friend of Omanhene Pozo receiving the cheque on his behalf thanked the association for extending a helping hand.
“First of all I receive this cheque on behalf of Omanhene Pozo. We are very grateful for what you have done within this short period I informed you about his sickness.”
Bandex together with other GHAMRO executives after the presentation at GHAMRO office visited Omanhene Pozo at the 37 Military Hospital where he has been admitted for weeks. The hiplife artiste shared tears upon seeing the delegation. Mother and wife of Omanhene Pozo who were at the hospital at the time of visit also thanked GHAMRO for their kind gesture. Bandex who led the delegation to the hospital promised to visit him a week after.
Omanhene Pozo is best remembered for hit songs like “Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mawo”, “Wasei”, Medofo Adaada Me” and many others.
