Audio: I will make Nana Addo President of Ghana - Sammy Crabbe

Embattled 2nd Vice Chairman of largest opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Crabbe has denied ever saying the NPP lacks the necessary structures to win elections and that he will work to ensure victory for their presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo.

Mr. Sammy Crabbe said regardless of the fact that the party is not adhering to the constitution by illegally suspending him, he will work hard to ensure that, Nana Addo wins the elections, however there is no way a party can win power without upholding the constitution of the party.

The suspended national officer, indicated, he was validly elected by delegates to ensure victory for the party in the upcoming general elections therefore he will not relent on that effort. ''I was elected to work for NPP to ensure victory for the party.

It is my job to ensure victory for the NPP and i shall do that job regardless of what is going on. I will ensure victory for our presidential and parliamentary candidates; and i interact with them all the time.

I don't need anyone to tell me to do what i was constitutionally elected to do. If someone hate me; that should not stop me from trying to do my duty. Our constitution unites us so we must work together to ensure that victory.''

Mr. Sammy Crabbe speaking with Rainbow Radio's Kwame Tutu on Frontline said it is wrong for anyone to describe him as ''suspended 2nd Vice Chairman'' of the NPP. According to him, anyone who describes him as suspended 2nd Vice Chairman can be akin to someone endorsing a coup de tat.

Mr. Crabbe said he will continue to defend and uphold the constitution to unite the rank and file of the party so they work together towards victory 2016.

''It will be difficult for the party to win the elections if we do not uphold the constitution of the party which the framers wrote for us- and it will be more difficult for people to work towards victory 2016 if the the wrong committed is not corrected,'' he said.

Mr Crabbe was suspended by the NPP’s National Executive Committee in November last year after he failed to appear before the Disciplinary Committee of the party to answer misconduct charges leveled against him by two members.

He was suspended along with General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong. The two were accused of disregarding the constitution by describing the suspension of to Chairman Paul Afoko as unconstitutional.

Mr Crabbe is challenging his suspension and wants the Accra High Court to declare it unconstitutional.
