MOST GHANAIAN'S ARE PRAYING FOR MY DEATH - AFARI GYAN

The issue of someone being pronounced dead on social media is a phenomenon becoming one too many.

Even though a lot of Ghanaians have spoken against it, it keeps occurring.

A recent one which was all over social media over the weekend was the alleged passing away of former Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Kwadwo Afari-Gyan.

Even though it was not substantiated, the rumour kept spreading. The false news was aired by some radio stations, while an announcement confirming the alleged death went viral on social media.

A supposed Family head of the former EC boss signed a statement informing Ghanaians that the funeral arrangements of their beloved will be communicated soon.

However, on Monday’s edition of Peace FM's morning show ‘kokrokoo’, the former EC boss spoke to Kwami Sefa Kayi, indicating that he is alive.

“You are not talking to a ghost…” he said.

Dr Afari Gyan indicated that he was in his hometown in the Brong Ahafo Region engaging in farming.
