Mark Hughes has conceded defeat in the battle to sign Saido Berahino by admitting Tottenham are the 'more attractive option' the Evening Standard report.
Stoke City's boss wants to bolster his attacking options this summer ahead of a renewed assault for a Europa League spot and the club have been linked with a swoop for the Baggies hotshot.
Berahino has endured a mixed campaign at the Hawthorns after being briefly frozen out of the first-team proceedings for slamming the club's chairman Jeremy Peace who blocked a deadline day switch.
Despite being rebuffed last summer, Spurs are still closely monitoring the 22-year-old and Hughes believes they hold the edge because they are on the brink of confirming qualification for the Champions League.
Speaking ahead of the two side's clash at the Britannia Stadium on Monday evening, the Welshman said "Spurs will always have an interest in quite a few players we are interested in.
"There are players out there who you express an interest in but because they are good players there'll always be other teams involved.
"If we're being realistic, if a player has a choice of Spurs or Stoke, then we could pitch up and make a good case for them to come here.
"But they may feel Spurs is a more attractive option and we have to accept that."
Mauricio Pochettino's men will be a difficult prospect on Monday evening as they will be looking to capitalise on Leicester's slip-up against West Ham as the hunt for the title intensifies.
