Some ‘macho men’ have reportedly stormed into a live studio discussion programme on Kumasi-based Fox FM and assaulted the host and the panel on the show.
The victim, Baah Acheamfour who is a member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to reports, was subjected to severe beatings by the well-built men.
Producer of the political show, ‘Eboboba’, Nana Anokye in an interview on Adom News said the macho men entered the studio unprovoked and went straight to the NPP man.
The attack is said to have been triggered by Baah Acheamfour’s reference to himself as an NPP communicator.
He said while the attack was on, his other colleagues managed to call in the police but they arrived after the thugs had left.
Nana Anokye noted that though he cannot immediately name who may be behind the attack, he suspects that the NPP Ashanti Regional Communications Director, Kwasi Kyei may have a hand in the disgraceful and criminal act.
“Kwesi Kyei was in the studios insisting that Baah Acheamfour is not resident in Ashanti Region, and also not part of the regional communications team and furthermore he failed to seek permission to speak on behalf of the party on air.”
He added that Baah Acheamfour has since been taken to the hospital for treatment, while a formal complaint has been lodged with the police.
