DKM CUSTOMERS ANGRY WITH NDC GOV'T





Some aggrieved customers of DKM Diamond Micro Finance Company have threatened not to allow president Mahama to campaign in Brong Ahafo Region.

According to them if president Mahama uses the coercive force of the military to pave the way for him come to the Region to campaign, they will in turn not vote for him or boycott the elections come November 7.

This threat was issued was by the spokesperson of the Concerned Customers of DKM Diamond Micro Finance Company, Isaac Fiagbedzi when he air their displeasure about the way Government is handling the DKM saga.

According to the aggrieved Customers of DKM, Government needs to be more up and doing in the procedures that will lead to them getting the monies, they claim is locked up at the Central Bank or face their wrath.

The spokesperson of the Concern Customers, Isaac Fiagbedzi noted that government on several occasions promised the return of their monies, but for about a year now nothing has been done to fulfill the promise.

He said the depositors are therefore calling on government to speed up process to salvage their investments before the November polls.,

Mr. Fiagbedzi blamed the immediate past Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Kofi Wampah for the DKM mess due to his poor supervision, saying even President Mahama in his state of the nation address admitted that fact.

He said Customers of DKM are not happy with satisfied with the BOG's decision to liquidate the company before getting them their monies, saying the liquidation process could take over three years.

Mr. Fiagbedzi added that they cannot wait for that long process, since they are family men with responsibilities and need money to discharge them.

He also expressed fears that many of them may not get their money if the liquidation takes place. He pointed out that the DKM Micro Finance Company saga has resulted into so many problems in the Region.

He went on to make the claim that about 61 Customers have lost their lives due to the problem, marriages have broken up, school fees left unpaid, with curses directed at various quarters the order of the day.

He hinted that on 29th of this month, they will be embarking on a peaceful demonstration to get Government to let the, know when they will be receiving their hard earned monies.

Another Member of the Concerned Customers, Frank Osei, believes President Mahama knows about the difficulties people are going through due to the Micro Finance problems in Brong-Ahafo and the three Northern Regions, and should therefore act fast as President, to bring relief to the suffering Victims of DKM.

He warned that if the Micro Finance problem, in Brong-Ahafo is not solved, then there is no need for President Mahama to come to the Bono-Ahafo to look for votes since the voters are dying. He further charged the newly appointed Governor Of Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Nasiru Issahaku to as a matter of urgency help in solving the problem.
