Teacher tells student her "only purpose" is to "have sex and make babies"

A very brave Georgia teen is standing up against her bully of a teacher, whom she alleges verbally abused her during history class.
Shaniaya Hunter, who suffers from an eye condition that sometimes keeps her out of class, recorded the incident on the school-issued iPad she was using to help with the lesson. She uploaded the audio to Soundcloud, and it is indeed disturbing.

In the audio, a male voice is instructing a group of Green County High School students about abolitionists. Hunter asks a question, to which the man responds, "You're the dumbest girl I have ever met in my life, and I have been around for 37 years and clearly, you are the dumbest girl that I have ever met."

"You know what your purpose going to be? To have sex and have children, because you ain't gonna never be smart," he says.

A female voice responds, saying, "That's rude."

The man goes on: "I don't care."

He continues to berate the teen. "You'll be a good housewife. Cult of domesticity, right here," he says. "See? She can't work an iPad."

Hunter told Atlanta's WSB-TV that this particular teacher routinely talks to students like this, but she's the first to come forward. "It really hurt me inside," she said tearfully. "I don't think it's okay. I don't think he should be here."

Hunter and her mother reported the incident to the school district, but the teacher is still employed. Attorney Ben Windham took their case pro bono after he heard the school didn't take serious action against the teacher.

"This man does not need to be teaching young children. It's not a gray area. End of story," he said.

"We're gonna fight. We're gonna keep fighting until it's over," said Hunter's mother, Cathy Wright. "It's not over yet."
