Capital Bank Manager Grabs Award

The General Manager of Technology at Capital Bank, Mariam Abdullah has been awarded at the 3rd Annual National Women in Banking & Finance Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Ms. Abdullah was recognized for her distinguished service in the field of technology, innovation and applications development in Ghana's Banking Industry.

The awards ceremony, organized by the National Women in Finance Magazine, is aimed at inspiring, motivating and coaching the current and next generation of women finance professionals to aspire to greater heights.
Commenting on the awards, Ms. Abdullah stated that the experience is overwhelming and humbling and will spur her on to do more to serve Capital Bank and assist in the development of more innovative customer-focused solutions to serve the needs of Ghanaians and give the bank a competitive edge in the industry.

“The award comes more with exposure and networking. I intend to latch onto this and tap into the resources of both internal staff and colleagues outside to become the best I could possibly be. My output can only be better. The sky is the limit,” she added.

Capital Bank, which is noted for innovation, was the first bank to help customers to deposit cash into their bank accounts through their mobile phones with its SpeedBanking solution.

It intends to become the local bank of excellence for African markets, providing the standard of measure for stakeholder return, with the strategic focus of becoming a Tier 1 bank in five years.
